Mechanism

Fatty acid ester with anti-inflammatory and joint-lubricating properties. Modulates immune response by inhibiting 5-lipoxygenase and modulating prostaglandin synthesis. Reduces joint inflammation and improves range of motion in arthritic conditions.

Contraindications

  • Severe liver disease

Mechanism

Stable precursor to sulforaphane. Requires myrosinase enzyme (from gut bacteria or co-administered) for conversion. Provides sustained sulforaphane release compared to direct supplementation. Activates Nrf2 pathway for antioxidant and detoxification gene expression.

  • Thyroid conditions (goitrogen at very high doses)
